It’s fairly easy to convert any business letter format to PDF, though the process can be a little tricky. I’ll show you the steps you need to take to create the best format possible for your content.

The first thing you have to do is to open the file in a text editor, usually a TextWrangler, and pick a font for the header. This will let you know where you’re going next. Now you’ll have to choose a style for the body copy of the letter, usually using one of the default styles.

Once you’ve done that, you should choose a good style for the copyright information. The copyright is often an area that the writer will often forget, so making sure to put it in correctly can save a lot of time in the future.

Next up, we’ll talk about headers. Headers don’t really matter much to the reader, but having headers that make sense and fit together properly can give the reader some direction. The headers should match the overall style of the letter. Again, this isn’t a huge deal, but having them make sense can make a big difference when the letter is read.

The next step is to convert the letter to PDF. This is the most important step in the process, because it will allow you to look at the document. You can use a free tool like OmniPage or a paid one like PDF Ninja. Just remember to download a version of PDF to look at.

When you look at the document, you’ll see that the headers are in the right place, and they match the general format of the document. You’ll also notice that the paragraphs are flowing nicely. Just take your time and make sure that the letters are all in the right place.

Now you can adjust the text size, which is sometimes harder than it seems. Using the settings in OmniPage or the steps mentioned above, you can resize the text on the page.

It’s entirely up to you what you do with the text on the page, and personal preferences can help here. However, if you want to use a format that other people will easily understand, then simply use what is best for you. Choose a style that you enjoy and that makes sense to you.
