Mesothelioma Causes – What Can Lead to This Hard to Detect Disease?

If you have been recently exposed to asbestos, the immediate concern is how to deal with the disease. Mesothelioma is the most common form of mesothelioma caused by asbestos exposure. Because this type of cancer generally takes about ten years to develop, the first stage of treatment is normally focused on early detection and treatment. However, if the disease is caught at an earlier stage, there are several treatments available. This article provides information on the most common types of mesothelioma causes.

The two main groups of mesothelioma causes are exposure to asbestos and viral infection of the tumor. Both can be traced back to long-term exposure to asbestos in the workplace, and SV40 is the virus that causes both of these. Asbestos exposure typically occurs after some sort of asbestos-related incident such as a demolition, building collapse, fire or accident. While some people may get mesothelioma exposure from simply being around a lot of asbestos, this is extremely rare. Overall, the greatest risk of asbestos exposure comes from people working around the substance.

Viral infections are also one of the leading causes of mesothelioma. The virus makes a special cell known as a cell virus that inserts itself into healthy cell membranes and starts reproducing rapidly. This is how the virus gets into the mesothelium – through the membrane of the target cell. The problem with viral mesothelioma causes is that they don’t always involve the body’s immune system. Instead, they usually occur when there is an injury or other problem that allows the mesothelioma-causing virus to travel to the targeted cells.

Mesothelioma can also be caused by genetic changes in the cells that line the lungs or the rest of the body. These genetic changes allow the cells to become abnormal and spread to other parts of the body. One type of mesothelioma causes involves genetic changes in the membranes of the cells that line the lungs. If the cells have genetic mutations, the mesothelioma can spread to the lungs or the heart and cause life-threatening problems. In these cases, the mesothelioma is generally referred to as pleural mesothelioma.

Cancer that has been caused by exposure to asbestos is unfortunately one of the more difficult types of mesothelioma causes to treat. Often times, it is necessary to have a blood test performed to determine whether or not the patient actually had the disease based on where the exposure to asbestos occurred. Depending on where the exposure occurred, the doctors will be able to determine if exposure was accidental or intentional. If asbestos was intentionally exposed to a person who was generally exposed to the substance, doctors are able to successfully treat the disease.

As you can see, mesothelioma causes can be many and they include both accidental and intentional exposure. The best thing that you can do is to make sure that your loved one is not exposed to any asbestos materials in the workplace. If your loved one has had their lung examined and does not have cancer, you may be able to sue the company that exposed your loved one to the dangerous material. You should not let this chance go wasted, because when you have cancer, there are treatments and there is hope. Make sure that you do not let your loved one’s life is turned upside down because of a disease that could have been treated.
