Although a business dress code might make you feel like a walking punchline, many people do follow it and others even use it as an opportunity to create a new look for their office. There are several key items that every business must have in order to comply with the business casual movement. These key items include but are not limited to, hats, ties, shoes, and dresses. Whether or not you choose to use one of these items depends on your personal style, of course.

business casual

Business casual or simply casual wear typically includes jeans, slacks, shirts and dress shirts with collars, collared shirts, dress slacks, dress shoes, and no ties. Though the term “business casual” might imply that you wear business clothes, casual is still an entirely different thing than business wear. In addition to wearing shirts and dresses instead of business suits, many people choose to go the route of bringing the entire outfit together with just a little bit of color and pattern. This is also known as “casual Thursday.” Another way to describe it is “come as you are.”

A good choice of business casual attire is something worn on a regular basis. Even if you choose to wear casual clothing occasionally throughout the week, you should consider how it will look on a formal occasion. It is important to make sure that you look good when you are dressed casually as well as when you are dressed in formal clothing.

Casual and business attire is always a good match and never difficult to mix up. However, it can be a little tricky to find exactly what you want to pair with what and really figure out what you are looking for. There are a number of great clothing lines that cater to the casual wardrobe, and they will make sure that you can look good.

The first important item is always the hat. Many casual styles are woven or plaid and can be quite plain or simple crazy embroidered. Always ensure that you choose a hat that will keep the sun off of your face. At the same time, you don’t want to make it too busy so you don’t have a nice, clean design. Regardless of how you choose to look, hats can easily be a big part of your business casual clothing.

Another key item is the proper tie. Most business casual ensembles will include a collarless shirt with a bow tie, which is a good choice for women who may not have access to a bow tie for whatever reason. For men, you may want to choose a collared shirt with a classic plain tie, but make sure that it is the right kind of tie.

Shoes are an easy addition to the casual wardrobe. Simple and low-top shoes or dress shoes are a nice choice for a formal office but can be paired with a basic pair of jeans in a more relaxed way. That said, the shoes don’t have to match the rest of your attire, it just has to be stylish and be comfortable.

By now, you’ve probably heard about the current fashion trends that are already taking over the world. Casual work wear is all the rage, and it is making a huge impact with some of the top brands in the business. However, there is a whole new wave of business casual apparel that is just beginning to take off and is creating an entirely new sense of style and comfort for both men and women.
