The Road Ahead for Physical Books and Magazines
The Usual Suspects! And now you too can be on Oprah, without Oprah doing Oprah!
As a patent holder, myself, I feel that such a product could be a very useful and valuable addition to the world of physical books. There are very few other products on the market that have what a book can do, or what a magazine can do, and yet most of these other products can not claim the same freedoms that a book can.
Apparently, the US President, Barack Obama, is a fan of Oprah. He has always said that she is one of the great women in America, and that she is “overrated”.
I do not know what he knows that I do not know, but I feel that the best use of physical books is for me to display my creations and put them out there for people to view. It is important for people to be able to read and learn from. Although it is not essential to understand, I think that books and magazines should be looking at as, the ultimate visual medium.
To me, the problem with a physical book or magazine, at a trade show, or a launch, is that it is hard to fold and carry around. It is also very hard to keep focused on something, or to get focused on one subject, if you do not like what you are reading. It is also hard to keep it all organized, so that it makes sense to anyone looking at it.
With these two problems, it becomes difficult to sustain your own attention on a subject or to even be interested in the subject, if you are busy being distracted by something else. A magazine and a book are just more portable than a magazine and a book. It would be difficult to carry around something like a magazine and a book, while still being in a store.
These days, many companies have used magazines as their primary marketing tool, and it would be a shame to see our brand, our company’s revenue, and our reputation, die because we did not promote ourselves properly in this arena. This is where the lack of opportunity in physical books and magazines comes into play.
There are others who have not only experienced it, but have actually become addicted to the purchase of physical books and magazines. They may only come across one magazine, but they have it stored in a box, or under a bed somewhere, just so they will be able to do something about the millions of dollars they need to save, and these billions of resources that are out there, waiting to be tapped into.
