Mesothelioma causes can be grouped into three main categories: asbestos, chemical and radon. The radiation that a person is exposed to when he or she inhales radon gas can result in mesothelioma. In order to be treated for this disease, an individual must first have the diagnosis confirmed by a mesothelioma doctor.

mesothelioma Causes

Mesothelioma causes are due to the exposure of the body to asbestos. The most common type of asbestos that is used to make up buildings, wall coverings and insulation is chrysotile. Mesothelioma patients are also at risk of developing tumors caused by asbestos fibres in their abdomen. The most frequent type of asbestos fibres that cause mesothelioma is chrysotile.

Chlorinated polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are another cause of mesothelioma, although it is more common in females than males. These are flame retardant PCBs that are used as insulators in almost all types of electrical equipment. They are also used as components in numerous electrical machinery, such as fluorescent lights and pumps.

A third cause of mesothelioma is asbestos fibres that enter through the air. The ones most often found in this case are those that have been manufactured using an extrusion process where a mixture of asbestos fibre and talc is heated and extruded through a nozzle.

Though not an actual medical study, it has been shown that long-term use of asbestos has caused increased incidences of Mesothelioma in both men and women. Studies in the USA have shown that about 30% of mesothelioma cases among men are associated with the use of asbestos.

Manyof the Mesothelioma cases occurred during the time of industrialisation and the use of toxic materials that were not regulated by the legal age of consent. The increasing dependency on chemical ingredients made them more prevalent and therefore, it becomes important for people to be aware of their surroundings. In fact, you need to have a general awareness of your surroundings and its dangers.

Mesothelioma causes are not limited to the workplace or the patients themselves. It can be easily transferred from one person to another if they happen to breathe in the same air. Since this disease affects the lining of the lungs, it is imperative that the patients wear protective equipment while outdoors, especially if the areas they live in have constant rainfall or heavy snowfall.

This disease has no symptoms, but as a precaution, anyone who has been exposed to the substance that is causing the cancer should be tested to ensure that their case is the same as the one that the victim is suffering from. As a result, medical tests are conducted to confirm whether or not the person has Mesothelioma. It is also advisable that the doctor make some further tests to determine the severity of the condition before acting on the patient.
