DVD and Blu-Ray Player Reasons Why People Love Netflix

If you are a Netflix member, then you have probably noticed the phenomenon that is the resurgence of interest in DVD and Blu-Ray players. Since so many people started to realize how much money they could save by using online video-on-demand, the value of these items has skyrocketed, forcing retailers to lower their prices and drive new customers in.

Although some studies claim that only about 5% of broadband homes use a DVD player, for most people, it seems that Netflix has become the highest priority in home entertainment. While the online option may be more convenient, the experience of watching a movie is simply not the same as watching it on a DVD or Blu-Ray player. It is hard to find the exact reason why, but it is definitely the ability to play movies instantly that has made these video formats so attractive to many viewers.

For those of us who have grown up in a world where the DVD was king, watching movies on the web just seems natural. The lack of physical storage space that is required to store DVDs is one factor. Streaming video files are very easy to download, make backups, and re-upload. These are all features that are also available with streaming videos on many other devices, but Netflix users are far more familiar with the format and can quickly transition from being curious onlookers to becoming avid viewers.

Another reason that Netflix continues to dominate the market for online viewing is because the quality of the images is far superior to what you would expect on a DVD. When viewing a movie, your eyes tend to adjust to the difference between the actual video and the picture reproduced from it. This is especially true if you are watching the movie with an audience that is using a television that has sharp glasses. When this is the case, the contrast between the actual image and the reproduction can be quite high.

With broadband, you will see similar quality output, and you won’t need to worry about visual imperfections that can add to the experience. The pixels are so tiny that even with the best quality equipment, you will not see fuzzy images that cause a bad viewing experience.

Another reason that it has become so popular is because the web video files are easily downloadable and can be watched almost immediately. After you have downloaded the file and play it on your computer, it can immediately be uploaded to your Netflix account. Some films require that you download the file to your computer first, but it is very rare that a viewer does.

Since broadband is such a huge source of new business, it has put pressure on retailers to compete with what is being offered at no additional cost. The price of a standard Blu-Ray player has dropped dramatically over the past few years, while their overall quality is getting better. Netflix offers several high-quality streaming formats, such as Dolby Digital Plus, which is better than the standard quality of the discs that you can purchase from the stores.

Netflix makes it possible for consumers to find a cheap online movie rental without the disappointment that often accompanies this practice. Of course, you should always check reviews and use your best judgment when it comes to deciding which product is right for you.
