The ISI in Homeland – The Real State of Affairs

In one of the many episodes of Homeland, we see an impossibly charming and beautiful woman named Khalid at the head of the revolution in Iraq. However, while she may seem to be the perfect leader, and even has a large following of her own, she is not given much time to prove herself.

First, she asks for the assistance of the ISI, as they have large numbers of fighters in their ranks, and they could use the additional manpower in case the Americans get too close to them. This is not a real problem, because she also has soldiers who are loyal to her.

Then, the Americans start taking out some of the insurgents with a missile strike, which give Khalid and her men a great opportunity to set fire to a few of the ISI headquarters, and make it appear that this is all the fault of the Americans. They can also then claim credit for the damage that they cause, and the ISI will do just about anything to stop this from happening.

While all of this is going on, I can think of one problem. It appears that the ISI, and perhaps Khalid as well, are under the impression that once they have done all of this, they can go back to working for the Americans. But in reality, there is no such thing as working for the Americans, only for one’s self.

Once she sets off a fire in the compound, she does not know where the people are that are hiding and does not know what the final results will be. For all that time, she only gets one message, and she will need to get it to the right place and the right time to give her a chance to send in a message, or else the terrorists will kill more Americans and make the lives of the Americans, her military and intelligence team members much harder than they already are.

Unfortunately, the time has passed and she is now dealing with the fallout of all of this and she doesn’t work that way. She’s trying to take down the enemy and send in a message, but when the message is sent, the message needs to be delivered at the right time. If she does not know how long she has to send it, then it is not going to matter.

Finally, if you follow these things closely, you might even be able to see that the fact that the ISI is sending people out to do this is evidence that they aren’t very good intelligence officials. All these people need to do is become less incompetent in order to send out the message correctly.

You might not know how long this is going to take, but if you notice that in the series, they seem to be waiting for the ISI to become incompetent before they start destroying their equipment, then you might be able to make a link between incompetence and the ISI’s communication line. After all, the time will soon come that Khalid will have to send out the message.
