Chelsea cruise past Everton in the Women’s FA Cup fifth round – their first game following their Champions League final defeat.

Guro Reiten found the bottom corner in the 28th minute to give Chelsea a deserved lead.

In the second half Sam Kerr capitalised on poor defending to volley home a second with 15 minutes remaining.

Drew Spence rounded off the win with a late thumping header to put Emma Hayes’ side into the last eight.

Everton, finalists last season, were chasing shadows in London as Chelsea bounced back from their agonising 4-0 defeat by Barcelona last Sunday.

A Bethany England header was ruled out for offside just before the break, while Blues defender Millie Bright hit the crossbar from range after the restart.

The hosts eventually netted a second through Kerr, who then turned provider with an inventive cross for Spence in the 86th minute.

Everton were captained on the night by Norway international defender Ingrid Moe Wold, 31, who was playing her final match before retiring from the game to pursue a career in physiotherapy back in her homeland.
