Lyra McKee’s partner, Sara Canning, says “it’s fed down that this is what your community does”.

Sara Canning believes “young people are still being brainwashed” in Northern Ireland.

Canning’s partner, Lyra McKee was shot dead in 2019 while observing rioting in Londonderry.

Speaking to Victoria Derbyshire about the latest riots she said:

“It gives them something to cling to, and a way of maybe increasing their cache in the community”.
