When it comes to the performances, the trickier task is identifying the best films to choose from. The sheer number of films being produced in this decade means that there is bound to be quite a few that come out right from the gate. So how do you actually go about identifying the movies that are going to have the biggest impact? To start with, focus on the big blockbuster franchise films, whether they are for the big screen or the small.
The fact is that most of the huge tentpole films of this decade are going to be sequels to each other. Because of the way this entertainment industry works, you can’t really expect a sequel to be any good. Hence, you need to know what kind of movies are going to make the biggest impact in terms of the hits and the misses. Don’t rely too much on the cast in these cases – just look at how good the script is and how well the director handles his subject matter.
These are the big action blockbuster films, where everything is black and white. The original, the protagonist and the villain are all extremely charismatic. Hence, if you are looking for a flick that captures your attention, that has a very dark theme and offers a very interesting story that involves thrilling and dangerous action, then get yourself a couple of examples of this category: Last Man Standing and Bad Boys 2. They have both done well.
You can bet that this category will continue to dominate for years to come, just as it did in the entire world. Consequently, while you can’t predict the future, you can certainly find out where the hits and misses lie in the early parts of the decade. And, when it comes to the best franchises, there is no better place to begin than with the biggest of all of them – The X-Men, which will come out a few years down the line.
