Catherine Tate has said she “still to this day” does not know why she was cast as Donna Noble by showrunner Russell T. Davies, describing it as the best job she has ever had.

Speaking to Laura Kuenssberg about her return to Doctor Who, the actress and comedian said it was extraordinary to get “another bite at the cherry”.
