Review of “Book Club”
“Book Club” is a movie about two women: Carol Alvarado and Kate Beckinsale, two ladies that each read the same book, same theme, each following its own way. However, the book they both read is actually one and the same.
During the movie, the two characters met Charlie Frumkin, a writer who is trying to write a new novel, and he tells them about his latest masterpiece. The two writers promptly invite him to their homes and soon, the two books will meet in an epic battle of sorts. Although the movie is not very serious, it is somehow similar to a love story, which will definitely produce various reactions on different people.
This movie is such a visual experience, especially when it comes to the scenes and shots used in the background. Such technique adds to the overall mood of the film, while adding to the dramatic elements. It is really a marvelous experience watching such movies because there are many things that people will remember, especially by their family and friends.
Moreover, it is such a romantic movie with all the characters that are three-dimensional characters. Both the characters of Carol Alvarado and Kate Beckinsale are very intriguing and each one of them is much different from the other. However, they share similarities with each other, like of being also girlfriends, each of them has a very strong sense of duty and responsibility. Also, the two of them have the same dreams and aspirations.
The storyline of the movie is very much unlike all the others but it is also very unique and fun to watch, especially the way the actors narrate their own story. As a result, you will always think about those two characters after the end of the movie. In fact, they seem to have grown up very fast.
One of the most significant thing about the movie is that despite having so many similarities with the plot of “The Graduate”, it also manages to be a very personal film with the characters of Carol Alvarado and Kate Beckinsale, both women that have their own story to tell. Eilish herself is an actress with a very unique voice and role, yet she is still able to perform the roles with dignity and grace. Many people watch the film to witness her beauty and how she exhibits all her talents.
