Khalid is a character from the 2020 blockbuster, The World’s End. If you’re wondering how to pronounce Khalid’s name, don’t worry – he is pronounced ‘Har-gurt’. He’s a genius, sort of like a cartoon version of Alan Turing, the British mathematician who helped break the Enigma code during WWII.
Khalid was created as a secret agent for a New York spy-movie hero – and not just any spy. No, he was created by Eric Idle as a secret operative for the bad guy. Which means the only secret agent in this movie that we really know of is Mr. Khan (Aziz Ansari).

Aside from his scar, Har-Gurt’s other great and probably most impressive power is that he can control the wind. He can control the wind with his lips, and everything around him. He can cause winds that blow in random directions to speed up or slow down.
Har-Gurt’s power makes him unique among super heroes in the film. In other movies, such as Superman and the like, it would be quite easy to imagine a superhero using their powers to fight evil.
His role was a small one, however. After his role in the first half of the movie, it seemed that he would be relegated to a supporting role, as the rest of the story unfolded. This movie gave us a little glimpse into his past, and how he was born. One thing is for sure, it gave us a great laugh, too.
