Oprah – Out Of Late Night – Out Of Late Quotes For the Next Generation

If Oprah is still around in 2020, the stars are right there on your TV. The economic downturn has had a significant impact on our entertainment industry and there is no doubt that the last few years have seen the return of some of the best late night talk shows to television.

Oprah has been a darling of late night entertainment for a very long time. Just a few short years ago, she was a bit of a fringe character on the nationally syndicated talk show circuit. Those days have changed. In fact, since she left her daytime TV home in the late 1980’s, there has been only one other talk show host who has achieved the same status as she did and that is David Letterman.

Oprah and Letterman could be compared on two fronts. They were both well-known personality and they were both known personalities on the talk show circuit. Oprah was at her peak at the height of her popularity and she has maintained her popularity ever since. She has been able to extend her show all the way into prime time, while other late night talk shows have faltered in recent years.

Oprah has maintained her influence and her show is the number one syndicated talk show on network television. When the ratings are counted, it seems that most of the people that watch the show do so in prime time. One out of every three people who tune into Oprah’s show are women. So, it would seem that her popularity has increased in the past few years.

But who is going to replace her on the network newscast? It could be someone like David Letterman or Conan O’Brien but in my opinion, it would be much more interesting if she stepped aside and let someone else take over the show. Oprah might not want to think about that but I bet she would agree withme.

Just imagine the possibilities of if Oprah left the network news and moved to a talk show. How would we feel if we didn’t get to see her every day on the network news and all we got to do was catch the highlights from an hour later on a talk show? How would Oprah react to this?

Hopefully, Oprah will still be around in 2020 and she will have managed to reinvent herself by then. Perhaps we will get to see her run for president or run for Mayor. After all, Oprah knows how to work the media game. So, if she is retiring, she should just go ahead and give us something to watch during the next presidential election.
