If you’ve read any of the Super Bowl blogs and watched some of the professional talk shows, you might be aware that an unprecedented number of high profile people have expressed a desire to go to the Super Bowl in 2020. One of the first Super Bowl winners to make this announcement was actor Ashton Kutcher. He has been a big supporter of the NFL and the Super Bowl for many years and is now ready to jump back into the ring.
Although a few celebrities might think that it would be easy to get back into the ring just to win the Super Bowl, it’s not as easy as it sounds. Celebrities are superstars and they are also responsible adults who do not want to disappoint anyone by making a poor decision that could cost them their own careers. Celebrities would much rather win something that will give them a major award that would then serve as a platform for the kind of work they have been doing for years to get them to this point.
Other superstars will have to consider some wild cards. These wild cards could include acting roles that require an actor to use his or her skills in an unfamiliar character. This kind of role can take on a different perspective than what the star has always been used to. If the actor gets good enough at the character and then continues to get good performances, then he or she may be considered for another unique opportunity.
Some actors may be picked in wild card categories for other reasons. Other stars might be open to other kinds of opportunities outside of acting. Other stars might simply be making an effort to work on their acting abilities and give them a chance to shine in other ways.
Some wild card opportunities could even come from regular people who might be doing nothing more than being part of their community. For example, some people might be a part of their church group, and if they find a unique talent they want to try it out on stage. Sometimes the person will get a love interest for the part, who plays the part in character. The role could be someone who is not only a good actor, but also someone who can act out their passion for the role.
Sometimes the person that can make it into the wild card category might have some kind of health issue that will keep them from playing the role. If the person has to decline an opportunity because of some health reason, the producers will let the person know ahead of time. They may offer the opportunity to a little-known, high profile actor who can still get parts as long as he or she is able to do a little bit of acting work. On the other hand, a celebrity could be offered an audition with a great deal of fanfare, but the role will be left open for someone who is more comfortable with being on the outside.
In the final analysis, there are a lot of people who want to try their luck at the Super Bowl, and then there are a lot of people who will not have that opportunity. Many people who have been in the industry for a long time will likely not be going to the Super Bowl. It’s true that some celebrities will get “their shot” at the Super Bowl in 2020. But for the most part, there are people who are very successful in their own right who have had to miss out on the experience in the past. Hopefully, they will get the chance to return in a future Super Bowl.
