Witnesses say 12 shots were fired between a car and moped on the busy street in south London.
Two men have died after reports gunshots were heard in a busy street in south London.
Police were called at about 19:50 GMT to Railton Road in Brixton on Sunday, where they found two men injured. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.
BBC reporter Vincent McAviney who is at the scene said witnesses claim 12 shots were fired between a car and moped.
He added there were “lots of witnesses” as the street was busy at the time.
Forensic officers have also been seen combing the street all night long.
Police officers, firearm officers, paramedics and an air ambulance were called to the scene on Sunday.
The Met said the nature of the men’s injuries was not yet confirmed.
A number of roads in the area are closed and a crime scene is in place. No arrests have been made, the force added.
Helen Hayes, MP for Dulwich and West Norwood, tweeted she was “horrified to hear two people have been murdered in a shooting”.
She added: “My thoughts are with their loved ones about to hear the worst possible news & all who witnessed this violence in our community.”
The shooting comes five days after a triple shooting in Ilford, east London, which resulted in two men dying.
