This year’s Academy Award nominees are currently being announced in Los Angeles.

The Oscar nominations are being announced in Los Angeles – with Dame Judi Dench and Jessie Buckley among the British acting nominees so far.
The pair are nominated for their supporting performances in Belfast and The Lost Daughter respectively.
Ciaran Hinds, who also appeared in Belfast, is nominated for best supporting actor.
Overall, The Power of Dog has six nominations so far, with Belfast and Dune following with four each.
Tracee Ellis Ross and Leslie Jordan are currently revealing the nominations in Los Angeles.
The announcement is split in two halves – with the most high-profile categories still to be announced.
British acting nominees in the leading categories could include Andrew Garfield, Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman.
Kenneth Branagh may also pick up a directing nod for Belfast.
The nominees for best picture will be revealed shortly, in a year which has seen the number of slots available expanded to 10 in order to make room for a wider range of films.
Belfast, West Side Story, Dune, Licorice Pizza, Coda, Power of the Dog, Being the Ricardos and Don’t Look Up are possible contenders.
There is pressure to make the Oscars more popular with and relevant to young audiences, after 2021’s pared-down ceremony tanked in the ratings, partly due to the absence of big film releases during lockdown.
The Academy has confirmed the ceremony will have a host this year, but has not yet revealed who it will be.
The ceremony hasn’t had a host since Jimmy Kimmel was at the helm in 2018. Instead, a variety of celebrity guests have introduced individual categories and announced winners.
This year’s ceremony will take place on Sunday 27 March.
