The Green Party discriminated against former deputy leader Dr Shahrar AIi because of his gender critical beliefs, a court has ruled.

Dr Ali launched legal action against the Green Party of England and Wales after being forced out of his role.

It is the first time an activist has sued his or her own party over this issue.

He has been granted £9,100 in damages for hurt feelings by the Mayor’s and City County Court.

All other charges were dismissed.
