The family of siblings Finlay and Samuel Butler and their cousin Thomas Stewart are “devastated”.

Four boys who died after falling through ice into a frozen lake in the West Midlands have been named as Thomas Stewart,11, Jack Johnson, 10, Finlay Butler, eight, and Samuel Butler, six.

Finlay and Sam were brothers and Thomas their cousin, said police.

The children were pulled from the water at Babbs Mill Park, in Kingshurst, near Solihull, on Sunday.

The families of the three young cousins have paid tribute to their “beautiful boys”.

“As a family we are devastated at the loss of our beautiful boys Tom, Fin and Sam in such tragic circumstances,” said their parents in a statement released by West Midlands Police.
