The government’s plan to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda has been deemed lawful by the High Court.

The Home Office has won a legal challenge against its plan to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda.

Lord Justice Lewis said home secretary Suella Braverman had not properly considered the circumstances of eight claimants whose cases were brought to court, and these will have to be reconsidered by the government.

A decision on whether to allow an appeal has been adjourned until January.
