Countdown word expert Susie Dent reflects on the sale of the popular online game Wordle to the New York Times.

The New York Times has purchased the popular online word game Wordle for an undisclosed seven-figure sum.

The free and simple game was created by software engineer Josh Wardle. It was released last October and now boasts millions of players.

Speaking to the BBC’s Ben Boulos, Countdown star Susie Dent said she hoped the game would remain free to play.
