The embarrassment of bumping into someone while crossing a busy city street because of the distractions coming from the content playing through your headphones is avoidable. It happens all the time, and it’s strange that for a world that is as connected as we are that we can lose our bearings for even the most basic environmental and social cues.

There is almost a poetic irony there: our technology can at the same time connect us to the entire world and also disconnect us from a person literally right in front of us.

The way we listen to music has gone largely unchanged for nearly a century. Headphones that go into our ears have remained virtually the same since they came into the market, and people have been getting lost in their own worlds ever since.

If the point isn’t clear enough, the inherent limitation of conventional headphones/earbuds is that they create a disconnect from other people and the environment. This poses a high degree of risk in terms of potentially being struck by moving objects and is a barrier to hearing verbal and environmental cues. A recent study showed 37 Million People being at Risk of When Wearing Headphones.

In other words, bumping into someone because you are wearing headphones and unaware of your environment isn’t the worst thing that could happen. You could potentially be hit by a car and lose your life. Believe it or not, it’s happened more often than we think.

Dome Audio has moved to improve the safety features of headphones by introducing their triple patented, 4D, surreal-sound, Bluetooth, bone-conduction headphones, with interchangeable noise isolation Dome Covers.

Simply put, Dome Audio is an audio technology company that is innovating the listening experience while not allowing the listening experience to put the user into a box and cut off from the world.

Dome headphones offer a new option of connectivity and productivity via their open-ear listening capability. Whether this involves public commuting and travel, remote work, homeschooling, collaborative work, and the list go on, Dome’s technology is the upgrade in the listening experience the headphone industry has been desiring for decades.

The core of Dome’s technology is what’s called “bone conduction,” meaning that their headphones make use of your hearing bones to transmit conductive current and deliver sound through vibrations directly through the bones of your head. This process bypasses the traditional channel that we use to hear sounds: simple air vibration in the ear cavity.

The main benefit is that this allows the listener to fully enjoy their podcast or latest EDM hit while allowing the ears to remain fully open and able to take in external sounds, something conventional headphones either greatly minimizes or eliminates completely.

Dome Audio’s founding team, Ben White and Tim Wright explain:

“The basic function and design of the conventional headphone have not changed since Nathaniel Baldwin invented it in 1910. After more than a century, a revolutionary headphone has emerged by Dome Audio.”
