Business and high-performance mindset coach, Monica Edwards, is the founder and CEO of Monica K. Coaching. She spent twenty-three years in law enforcement in various positions, such as Special Agent for the U.S Government, Counterintelligence Agent overseas, and Fugitive Recovery Agent. After her career in law enforcement, she experienced what she now fondly refers to as the “Decade of Devastation.”

It was a time when she realized her life was likely half over. She felt completely defeated and less than hopeful about the future. Monica states that, in one decade, she experienced divorce, followed by empty nest syndrome after raising her stepchildren, the loss of a twenty-three-year career and business, bankruptcy, the death of her father, the suicide of her former roommate, and an accident where she witnessed the death of her dog. When she thinks back on it, it seemed that everything Monica had invested in and cared about was coming to an abrupt end.

Monica shares, “This decade left me unemployed and feeling the weight of all those previous events. Not only was I financially bankrupt, but I was also emotionally, mentally, and physically bankrupt.” She says she was a depressed, menopausal, overweight smoker and fast food junkie. In short, she says she was “an anxious hot mess.”

At this point, Monica realized she had two options: give in and give up, or rise up. “I decided to seize the opportunity to evolve and overcome,” she shares. “That’s when I created my life’s mission statement:  To have a significant impact on the world by empowering others to live their best life on their own terms, by their own design.” Monica’s life experience has proven to her that “life happens for us, not to us.” She knows firsthand that the greatest lessons we could ever learn are born from what the masses refer to as “failure.” Monica no longer believes failure even exists. She states, “There are no failures, there are only opportunities to learn and grow.”

It was these life challenges, experiences, and tragedies that caused her to dig deep and become a student of life, finding purpose, discovering the secrets of mastering her mindset to rise above. She has grown to believe that life provides lessons so we can help others. “During my own journey of healing and reinventing myself, I learned the power of the five inches in between our ears,” Monica states. “As the old saying by Henry Ford goes, ‘Whether you think you can or you can’t – you are right.’”

Learnings that caused Monica to seek additional training are what set her apart from other real estate coaches. “Our experiences and the events in our lives, as well as our interactions with people, shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us, ” Monica explains. “This is how our belief systems are created and this is the filter through which we view ourselves and the world around us.” Monica believes that some of these beliefs are unhealthy, and hold us back from realizing our full potential. The process and coaching techniques she uses unveil the thought patterns that stand in our way.

Monica had to figure out how to close the gap between where she was and where she wanted to be in order to make her dreams a reality and to help others in their career. The journey to Monica’s new life purpose was going to take a great deal of hard work. So, she decided to grab life by the reins and begin training with the best coaches in the field of holistic medicine and neuroscience. This training helped Monica go from thinking her life was over to loving the new life she had created. This transformation allowed her to discover her true purpose and passion, which is to have a meaningful impact on the lives of others.

In the mid-2000s, Monica engaged in part-time Natural Health Coaching which transitioned into weight loss coaching. Nature’s Sunshine Inc. invited her to be on an international committee to co-create their weight loss coaching program. She also attended the Real Balance Health and Wellness Coaching certification program. As she transitioned into full-time coaching in 2011, she began working with real estate professionals.

She quickly realized that even though she could coach them to the numbers, proven systems, models, and leverage, she needed something more to ensure all her clients would break through to the next level. She completed a Spiritual Life Coaching certification program, a Deep Transformational Coaching certification, became a Master Coach of Neuro-linguistic Programming, a Master Practitioner of Neuro-linguistic programming, a certified Time Line Therapy Master Practitioner, and a Certified Master Hypnotist. These techniques work on the non-conscious minds to eliminate residual negative emotions and limiting beliefs, as well as finding new perspectives on the way we see ourselves and the world around us. This kind of work is what sets Monica apart from all of the other Real Estate Coaches out there. The impact on her clients is life-changing!

Because of her unique skill sets, studies, certifications, and training, she partnered with Keller Williams Realty, MAPS coaching where she fine-tuned her knowledge of the systems, models methods, and leverage per the Millionaire Real Estate Agent (MREA) book and became a certified Maps Productivity and Transformational Coach.  Keller Williams has approximately 150 coaches they contract with across the country. Most of the coaches are straight production coaches who coach solely to the numbers, models, and systems of the MREA. Monica is one of 13 coaches across the nation that coach to these same methods, but Keller Williams contracted with her specifically for our transformational coaching skill set and neuro-linguistic programming studies and certifications.

Monica begins with an assessment of your motivations. Your “whys”, as she calls them. What is your purpose? She believes that personal development is the key to financial and emotional stability. This is done by looking at the person as a whole, not just the professional components of your life. “I develop a bond with my clients,” She shares. “ I partner with them and create a place where it’s totally okay to vent and be yourself, without fear of judgment.” That’s how real issues are dealt with.

The difference between this approach and others is the holistic component. Monica coaches the whole person to help move them forward both personally and professionally. The whole person needs to be addressed if there’s going to be any kind of real transformation.

Monica K. Coaching uses business analysis to determine what systems should be used and how to incorporate successful habits such as tracking numbers for measured success. Monica works with clients that are experiencing burnout, exhaustion, stress, and most of all, overwhelm and fear. These are the clients that need transformational coaching. Monica partners with real estate agents to share the knowledge she gained from her experiences and subsequent training to provide these clients with the tools they need to reach their peak success. “People will see the difference when you are not constantly feeling stressed out and defeated, Monica explains. “Your clients will see it, your family and friends will see it, and most of all, you’ll feel it.”

“I truly believe that we are all failing our way forward,” Monica states. “Just because someone is doing well financially, doesn’t mean they aren’t afraid of losing it.” How can we move forward if we aren’t honest about where we are starting from? The goal is to get you from where you are now to where you really want to be. “I want the client to experience what it feels like to have emotional and financial freedom,” Monica explains. “I truly believe that people should enjoy what they do.” Monica K. Coaching can give you the breathing room you so desperately need so that you can actually enjoy your life and your career.
