Sabre Corporation to Bring WebMyocard to Airline Applications

Sabre Corporation is an air travel technology business based in Southlake, Texas. It’s the largest worldwide distribution company for air reservations in North America. American Airlines started the company in 1960, and later it was spun-off into several other divisions. Among those companies are the massive Delta Airlines and Continental Airlines. Sabre was formed by acquisition from Delta Airlines and became part of Continental Airlines.

A main goal of Sabre Corporation is to be the world leader in the commercial aviation market. To achieve this goal, the corporation has designed and developed a variety of technologies that enable airliners worldwide to communicate with each other and with their reservation systems at the same time. All of this is done through a single source application called WebPro, which is its mainframe. In order to get the full benefit of the WebPro technology, the corporation has developed and supports several different back-end applications. Among these applications are Web Presence, Open Tickets, Customer Management, Revenue Sharing and E-ticketing.

Another goal of the Sabre Corporation, as stated by the President and COO, John Combs, is to become the real-time travel agent. This goal has been met with much success by Sabre employees who have taken Sabre training courses. As a result, the corporation is now able to offer more than 100 services that allow customers to interact with its systems in real-time. These include hotel reservation services, flight searches, destination information and online access to the Sabre Intranet and its companion systems.

In order to assist its customers with the customer management function, a new feature called WebMyboarding has been developed. This new feature allows employees of the travel technology company to enter a small area of a website and be able to interact with its content in a highly efficient manner. The only requirement for using WebMyboarding is that employees have an Internet connection. To date, many airlines have started to offer this new feature free of charge to its clients. A company can use WebMyboarding to give flight information, provide a citation needed for a flight, provide an online fare search and list a contact person if a customer has a question.

One of the most exciting areas of development within the Sabre Corporation is its global distribution system. The global distribution system was designed to make it easy for global customers to purchase products from the company anywhere in the world. In order to take advantage of this function, however, it is necessary to have an online presence in China, India, the Philippines, Brazil and the rest of Latin America. In order for the global distribution system to work, the distribution staff must have access to computers with Internet connections. Today, many airlines already use this service in order to provide passenger services to customers in the four corners of the globe. When the airline system becomes operational around the globe, it will have increased efficiency and helped reduce cost for the corporation.

Travel agents and other employees in the tourism business should be happy to know that the technology used by Sabre in its core business areas will also be used within its customer service division. In the customer service area, Travel Agents will be able to generate ticket reservations, manage their clients’ preferences in terms of dates and travel dates and check on the status of tickets booked by their clients. The ability to track the status of customer’s requests will help the Travel Agent and the airline to make sure the customer is satisfied. When the reservation system becomes operational, it will expand the range of businesses and areas handled by Sabre Corporation.
