The causes of mesothelioma are not well known, although there are several risk factors. Some people are more likely to develop mesothelioma than others, while some have a family history of the disease. It is also possible to be exposed to asbestos without developing mesothelioma, but this is very rare.

mesothelioma Causes

Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that is widely used in construction and many other industries. When people work with asbestos, they may have the chance of developing mesothelioma causes by inhaled fibers. Inhaled fibers can travel into the lung tissues and affect the mesothelial lining, which is the covering of the internal organs in the body. The effects of this can include cancers of the lungs, heart and other parts of the body.

A malignant form of mesothelioma causes the disease in its most severe form. This form is known as pleural mesothelioma causes. People who have had asbestos exposure and have malignant mesothelioma are often not able to cure the disease.

There are many treatment options available for mesothelioma causes. Doctors will usually treat mesothelioma patients according to the stage of the disease. Stage I is the least serious of all mesothelioma causes, while Stage IV is considered to be the most dangerous. In Stage I, mesothelioma patients generally do not experience any symptoms or problems. However, they may still need treatment to improve their general health and prevent any more damage from occurring.

Stage III mesothelioma are considered to be very aggressive. Because the disease has spread, there is a chance that healthy cells may still be damaged. This damaged tissue may contain genetic mutations that could affect the cell cycle. If the mutation occurs near a significant number of DNA bases, the cell will simply stop functioning, and death will result. Because this is a very aggressive form of cancer, doctors consider it to be life-threatening. Therefore, treatment options are often very aggressive and include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and immunotherapy, which are used to attack the mutation in the cancerous cells.

Pleural mesothelioma can also spread outside of the lungs to other parts of the body, such as the lining of the chest (pleura), the abdomen (peritoneum) and some areas of the brain (encephalon). Some of these areas show increased risk when asbestos fibers are inhaled. This type of cancer can also be found in smokers. If you or someone you know is suffering from this disease, then you should contact your doctor immediately.
