Mesothelioma Causes and Symptoms

Mesothelioma causes and mesothelioma symptoms will not appear in your daily life, unless you already have the disease. Though if you have been exposed to asbestos in the past you may still be at risk. Here are the types of Mesothelioma.

First is pleural mesothelioma. This is a cancer of the membranes that surround the organs of the lungs and airways. This causes the lining to gradually weaken and eventually collapse. Some common symptoms that you may experience are coughing, shortness of breath, weight loss, shortness of breath, tightness in the chest and difficulty in breathing. Eventually the narrowing of the lungs may lead to lung cancer.

Another type of pleural mesothelioma is pleural effusion. This is a symptom of pleural mesothelioma. This form is where fluid collects in the tissue surrounding the lungs. The fluid may also come from the lung or may originate from a different organ such as the abdominal area. This fluid is associated with pain, difficulty in breathing, coughing, shortness of breath, puffiness and swelling.

In men this form may be caused by exposure to asbestos, or it may involve small (arbitrary) size of carcinoma cells. This kind of mesothelioma occurs at the lower part of the chest. The most common places for the risk of developing this condition are those areas on the shoulders and underarms. Cancer may not show up until around 60 years of age, so the majority of mesothelioma cases occur in people over the age of 40.

Hereditary mesothelioma causes is an uncommon cause. Though heredity has been linked to a higher than normal risk of developing this disease. There have been some studies which have shown that it has been associated with familial disorders such as hemophilia, hyperthyroidism, thyroid disease, Lupus, HIV, and Wilson’s disease.

Cell transformation is a symptom of mesothelioma. A damaged or malformed lung tissue called pleural effusion occurs when cells die and swell in the spaces between the bone. This causes the lower lung to shrink and the airway to become narrower. If the heart fails to pump properly the disease will progress to a more advanced stage. The more serious form of this type of Mesothelioma causes is known as malignant mesothelioma.

This type of primary mesothelioma is usually the most aggressive form. This type of Mesothelioma causes the worst type of symptoms possible. This is also the hardest to diagnose. Symptoms may include difficulty in breathing, chronic cough, wheezing, chest pain, chronic fatigue, diarrhea, and vomiting. Depending on the severity of symptoms, and the patient’s history, some patients may be in the advanced stages of this condition before they ever find out they have it.

These symptoms may be present but should not be interpreted as a Mesothelioma symptom. It is important to take steps to confirm if you have any of these Mesothelioma causes before the disease progresses.
