Boeing’s stock surge is giving the Dow a 40-point boost

Shares of Boeing Co. BA, +9.36% are pacing all the premarket gainers among Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, 2.17% on Wednesday, after the aerospace and defense giant reported first-quarter results that weren’t quite as bad as Wall Street was expecting. The stock rose 4.5% ahead of the open, while the implied price gain would add about 40 points to the Dow’s price. Dow futures YMM20, 2.05% rallied 137 points, or 0.6%.
