New Trends In Hot Shows of 2020

As it relates to the current hottest shows on television, I will say that I think the idea of something like the Celebrity Apprentice might be out. The word ‘Apprentice’ conjures up images of the most cruel, obnoxious, and downright unpleasant characters in the history of the United States, so that is not something that I would want to watch.

But what else might we be looking at? What will be really exciting to see is some sort of partnership between NBC and HBO on a reality show that comes out of nowhere, like the X-Factor or Chopped, but with a bit more ambition. These types of shows were a huge hit for FOX a few years ago, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see something similar happen again with a more innovative approach.

One of the reasons why these reality television shows were such a hit was because they were all about people who had a good grasp of the art of hospitality. Now that we have hit rock bottom in terms of trying to cut spending for the government, then that may be the perfect venue for a few of these shows to get together to help out. I know the networks would love to have such a thing happen because then we can say to them ‘we can’t afford this, but if you do this for us, we’ll be the biggest viewers ever!’

All in all, if we keep making these shows in this little nice little niche market we could definitely make a lot of money off of them. That is certainly worth considering.

Of course it’s going to take a few years to really understand exactly what cable TV networks are willing to risk doing for the viewership. I imagine that after the disaster that was Dancing With The Stars and the scandal of Jackass, there won’t be any appetite from them to try anything new. It’s going to be a fairly safe bet to say that the most unique new shows we will see during the next decade will be ones like Bill Nye Saves The World or whatever else Alex Trebek does on his show with Jim Henson.

I also think that we will see a shift towards national parks and some sort of seasonal nature shows to take advantage of the ratings available at the moment. If nothing else, people could use some entertainment from time to time and these types of shows will fill the bill.

I also think that we are probably going to see something similar to The Amazing Race, with perhaps a twist on it. So the current reality show is going to move into some sort of new territory and it will be interesting to see what kind of shows will come out of it. We can probably expect to see some sort of ‘Escape Games’ at some point too, because that sort of thing always sells well.

Lastly, we will also see a shift from old school reality shows to the new breed of reality show that is becoming so popular. It’s only natural that everyone wants to watch something that they feel they’re going to be a part of and that they will be entertained by as well.
