She was born in New York to parents (Billie and James G. Eilish) on October 7, 1972. Her dad was a US Naval Officer and her mom was an actress. The two divorced when she was very young and then divorced again when she turned three. A family tragedy then cut short her childhood and a stage career seemed inevitable.
After graduating from High School in the US, Eilish had some time to think about her future. It was at this time that she went to England to attend college. There she did a one year course in Drama at the University of Bristol.
She soon realised that her theatre skills would enable her to pursue a career in the theater and not just any acting career but that of playing leading roles. She found that her personal life would also suffer if she stayed at home and worked as an actress and she left to live in London for a couple of years.
In the meantime, Billie Eilish was discovered by the producer of the television series Blue Fire in New York. The producers asked her to audition for the part of a teenage girl that they had cast in the role of Sandy. She was so impressed with her auditions that she left the United States to travel around the world.
Billie Eilish then spent a year travelling across the United States. She then went to L.A. and found a job in a popular theatre production company where she met Robert Klein.
They began dating and fell in love and when Billie Eilish returned to the United States, she decided to follow her dreams and try her luck in the world of theatre. She found a small role in an English play but it was not until 1994 when she was cast in the movie “The Dream” starring John Travolta that she began to get more attention in the industry.
