Oprah Winfrey has a three-year-old boy. She brought him along to her high school prom and he fell down the stairs. He broke several ribs and had two disks in his back replaced. She thought he was going to die and in the hospital room she called the boy’s father and his wife, said that they could not come to the prom because they had a dying boy.

This is a scene from the movie ‘One Day,’ when the girl’s mother called the boy and told him that he had been invited to the prom. He said that he did not want to go because he did not know anybody and was scared. He has always been afraid of crowds, scary people and elevators.

Some time later the girl’s mother called the boy and asked if he wanted to be an Oscar. That was a huge honor for a boy. He said that he did not like it at all and asked why the girl’s mother thought that way. She answered, “Because you were born to be an Oscar.”

So, you see, there is no such thing as Oscar as in the movie. An Oscar is a personification of courage, success and valor. They are destined to be extraordinary individuals.

What does this say about those who are labeled as Oscar? One could question whether they deserve that label or not. If we think a little deeper, we will realize that we cannot really be human if we accept the label, or if we are labeled as an Oscar. The problem with that whole concept is that, they have been labeled.

For most of us, we are not real human beings unless we agree to be, except we are given freedom to make decisions in life. Therefore, what really makes us humans is our decisions and the way we choose to live our lives.

Oscar was born in 1979 and he is a very famous actor and singer. He is the current president of his own company. He has been the first African American man to ever win the Academy Award for Best Actor and he has won for Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Music and Best Production Design.

There is nothing wrong with Oscar. Oscar is a very good kid and he does many things well. Oscar does not need to be ‘special’ because he is not, he is just an average human being.
