In the first episode of the Showtime drama Homeland, CIA agents played by Mandy Patinkin and Damian Lewis meet with a woman they think is a terrorist named Khalid Bin Madoff. The other characters in the scene seem to be suggesting that she is a member of Al Qaeda or at least an Islamic fundamentalist.
They think she has affiliations with Al Qaeda, because they think she is someone who is interested in terrorism. But when she opens her mouth, she does not sound like that. We never get to find out if she is even interested in terrorism, but we are led to believe that she is a terrorist.
When she is shown to the other CIA agents, they say that she sounds like she is involved in “something spiritual.” But in the series’ trailer for the show, the name Khalid was altered to “Muhammad.”
So, when can you expect to see the real Khalid Bin Madoff? Probably not soon. Because Showtime refuses to reveal who she is and how she came to be on their property, even to the producers, most Homeland fans have no idea who she is or if she is indeed affiliated with Al Qaeda.
Some Homeland fans are certain that the name that the people on the TV show refer to her as being an anagram for “Kamal Muadfi,” which means “Khalid bin Madoff”Khalid bin Madoff’s daughter.” There is also a sub-anagram of “Kamal Muadfi” which means “Mother-in-law,” but this would mean that the person referred to in the name is in fact that of the wife of the “father” of the world’s largest financial institution. Although it may appear that the person on the show is using a proxy name and is pretending to be someone who is a terrorist, this could not be further from the truth.
This is another conspiracy theory that is thrown out there by fans of the television show; which says that the name “Khalid bin Madoff” is actually the name of the terrorist himself. Some think that the terrorists might have made up the name to draw the US into a war so that they could hijack a plane and crash it into the World Trade Center in New York.
But a serious relationship between the mother of the global financial institutions and the terrorist groups does not seem likely at all. Though she may be a member of one of the groups, the truth is that she is just some random individual, who was somehow drawn to the terrorist group.
Some of the best television has been done in Hollywood, and all of these things are true. There are conspiracy theories out there which say that certain people may be secretly working behind the scenes and passing messages to these Hollywood producers.
