So it’s time to start thinking about who will be the next hot shows of 2020, because the “Hottest Shows of 2020” are back and there’s a lot of names at the top of the list. However, there are some new contenders this year, including new and returning shows that are guaranteed to be hot for this decade.

Hottest Shows of 2020

One of the most highly anticipated TV series of the year is the new season of FX’s hit political thriller, The Americans. The first episode of the second season was just released, and fans are already buzzing about the sixth and final season.

Another series that is in contention is Martin Kelly’s recently renewed US version of Castle. Will it live up to expectations, or will it simply be another sleeper hit? In terms of ratings, Kelly’s show will be next to none compared to the big name dramas on cable, but ratings aside, this is one of the best shows of the year and the series will be another great addition to FX.

If you want something that combines both action and social drama, there’s nothing better than the new series of Kidding. Kidding is best known for being the top comedy on Showtime, but now this multi-media success is heading to TBS with two shows coming from the same source.

Last year, TBS announced that they were going to produce another fabulous romantic comedy. The one everyone will be talking about this year is Waitress. It’s basically a mash up of the best parts of Gossip Girl and Grey’s Anatomy, and it seems like TBS has a real winner with this one.

The one show that won’t be receiving as much buzz is a Facebook show called Crisis In Six Scenes. But they’ve released the pilot, so we’ll see if the rest of the series lives up to the hype. The third season of Trial & Error and the third season of Major Crimes will also likely to be huge hits.

TV critics, in general, aren’t as enthusiastic about all the new TV shows, but the shows we’ve talked about above are definitely worth checking out. The biggest name is undoubtedly The Americans, but even then there are many people that don’t consider it a show of the decade.
