Both those two corporations have previously released movies on DVD or used a limited number of movies from Disney to promote their various brands and movies. Now, they are in the market for their first original movie through Netflix.
The main difference with the kind of movies that these two corporations made was that they all had a different story lines and all were targeted towards the young audience. Now, you might say that this is something new and even a bit strange. But, if you look back to the past, it is not as far fetched a concept as some might think.

The movie was a major hit in theaters but also gained enough popularity online because of the way it was distributed.
